DnA Ventures has been selected as a project partner in the GreenIoT4KMU initiative, supported under the EFRE/JTF Programme NRW 2021–2027 and co-financed by the European Union and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Together with industry stakeholders and consortium partners, the project advances digital and sustainable transformation within manufacturing SMEs across the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

About the Project

The GreenIoT4KMU-project focuses on strengthening the integration of digital technologies and sustainability principles within industrial production systems. The initiative promotes structured use of IoT architectures, industrial data ecosystems, and sustainability-oriented performance management approaches to enhance transparency and environmental performance in manufacturing operations. The project is implemented in collaboration with multiple industrial and research partners. As part of this consortium, DnA contributes its expertise in industrial data platforms, IoT system architecture, sustainability KPI/KEI integration, and digital transformation strategies. Other partners include the RIF Institut für Forschung und Transfer e.V., Stemann Consulting, Albrecht JUNG GmbH & Co. KG, and Karolick GmbH.

Project Goals

The GreenIoT4KMU project pursues the following key objectives:
  • Establish structured data ecosystems to enable the exchange of sustainability-related information between companies.
  • Integrate IoT-based data acquisition into production environments to improve operational transparency.
  • Develop and harmonize sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs) across shopfloor and management levels.
  • Enable data-driven optimization of energy, resource, and emissions performance.
  • Strengthen the digital maturity of participating KMUs.
Through close collaboration between project partners, the initiative aims to create scalable and transferable approaches that combine digital innovation with environmental responsibility.

DnA’s Role

Within the project consortium, DnA supports the conceptualization and implementation of data-driven frameworks that enable sustainable production management. Our contribution includes system landscape analysis, IoT architecture alignment, and the integration of sustainability data into operational environments. As a part of the project, DnA collaborates with United Manufacturing Hub, building on their industry-ready, open-source IT/OT platform.

Contribution to Regional and European Objectives

GreenIoT4KMU aligns with the objectives ofthe EFRE/JTF Programme NRW 2021–2027, which promotes innovation, climate protection, digitalization, and sustainable economic development. Through this initiative, the participating partners contribute to advancing resilient and future-oriented industrial value chains in North Rhine-Westphalia. The financial support from the European Union enables the structured development and implementation of sustainable digital solutions that support long-term regional competitiveness and environmental progress.
